BHM Golf Sucks

A journal detailing my trials with BHM golf, trying to get the golf clubs I ordered in June delivered in November (note his website promises shipping within 2 days). Feel free to comment on your experience, or leave tips for me if you have had any success with this company.

Refund Coming?

So the clubs were returned to Villa Park from Oregon.

Since I've been playing hardball, Brian is trying to be "nice". He has offered me a further discount on the clubs. Would I pay $95 for the clubs, and he will refund my original bill? No thanks. I don't want to be sending more money!

It took about 5 emails before he understood that I wanted a refund and I did not want the clubs from him under any circumstances. Again, he insisted that I speak to him over the phone. I refused, insisted again on a refund and said he would not change my mind whatever he said.

No refund yet. Wouldn't be suprised if he says he is mailing a cheque to Oregon.

Calling at 11:30 pm?

What retailer calls a customer at 11:30 pm? I was doing homework late tonight, and BHM called (or so says my call display--didn't feel like a chat with Brian right before bed). Good chance I, or someone in my household, could have been sleeping. He probably didn't know the time difference between my home and Chicago, but it was 12:30 am in Chicago!

Return to Sender

So after I told Brian he couldn't reroute orders to Canada because there was no information for customs with the parcel, he tries, fails, and now the package (1lb--for clubs?) is going back to BHM HQ in Villa Park.

Now I am insisting on the refund since the package is going back, thinking of sending the registered mail letter, and filing a complaint with the Internet Crime Center (no point in waiting until he screws up again?).

Look who I fonud! (you've been warned...)

Could I expect anything more?

Well...BHM thinks they have corrected the address issue by contacting UPS and giving them the old address AGAIN. UPS has no record of my corrrect address.

Also, in reponse to my previous emails/complaints, BHM is now stating:
1. the clubs were lost on the first shipment. This is not what I was told earlier. I was told that the clubs had been returned, that BHM had sold them to a different customer, and then ordered a set for me. Which took 3 months!
2. the clubs are discontinued...if it was going to be so hard for BHM to get the clubs, why not tell me and say "please choose a different set of clubs for the same cost".

BHM's website still lists these clubs as "drop ships in 3-5 days from the manufacturer"...

I am now insisting on a refund as my only remedy.

How to Deal with BHM

Trying to get resolution myself, here are some steps one could take:
1. Contact the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and file a complaint
http://www.bbb.org/

2. Contact your credit card company and/or paypal.

3. File a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center. Apparently, this has gotten resolutions for some customers.
http://www.ic3.gov/

4. Contact the supplier (the one who is "delayed" and is the cause of the backordered clubs) and let them know how BHM treated you. If the supplier lists BHM as an authorized dealer, ask the supplier if BHM is someone they really want to recommend to potential customers on their website.

History of the problem with BHM

On June 26, 2007 I ordered 3 items from the BHM golf website (www.bhmgolf.com). At all times on the phone and via email I have dealt with Brian H. Meyer.Payment amount was $171.98 on my American Express credit card.
Maxfli Noodle Ice Multi Color Golf Balls Dozen ( 1)
Wilson ProStaff Ti Gloves Left Hand -ML (1)
Wilson Tour RX Ladies Complete Set Right Handed Ladies Complete Set (1)

I was told that these items would be shipped soon. The PDF invoice that was sent to me stated "Items shipped June 27".Since I was going to the USA on vacation, I had requested that the items be shipped to my vacation area(instead of Canada). This would have worked had the items actually been shipped on June 27--they would have arrived to my vacation destination a few days before I left. Note that his website promises shipping within two days!

I called BHM to get a tracking number since it was stated the items were shipped. This was around July 1. BHM yelled at me over the phone for being impatient and said they would email the tracking number when it arrived. The items had not been shipped yet.

I told BHM that since they had not been shipped yet, they would have to be shipped to a different address. I emailed them with an explanation and the new address. BHM emailed back:"Sorry for the confusion also. thank you for your wonderful prompt service. the extra stuff willl ask as shipping and your set of tour lx set of clubs shipped out today to us.. then we ship to you. Thank you."I took it that they understood my request, but I don't think they read my email.

BHM then shipped the clubs to the OLD (wrong) address. I got a tracking number for this July 15 (not at all what was the shipping date on the invoice). Fedex then returned the clubs to BHM (I contacted Fedex to try and get the clubs rerouted).

Attempts since then have been made to get the clubs shipped to me. In August, BHM said that they had sold my clubs to someone else but were reordering them and would ship to me (for free). On August 9, 2007 in an email BHM stated the clubs would be shipped "next week".

In September, BHM said they were still ordering the clubs but something was wrong with the supplier.Later in September, BHM's Brian Meyer said he was not at work, not dealing with orders because his girlfriend was in a car accident. Based on internet research I do not beleive this.

In October, BHM keeps telling me they are ordering more clubs, then they will ship to me.

This was the same story when I called then November 1.

One of the more recent emails, on October 23 Brian H. Meyer stated the clubs were shipped to me: "Allison, shipped to you on monday.. you should see them by the end of the week. let me know.Thank you Brian H. Meyer1 800 GOLF BHM1-800 465-3246sales@bhmgolf.comwww.bhmgolf.com1-630-782-06431-630-212-5124 Cell 1-630-563-1353 Fax"

In fact, they have not been shipped yet, nor had they arrived to the store.Any time I request a refund, he says he still wants to ship to me.

Now, November 6, the clubs were again shipped to the old address! What is also confusing is that UPS tracking states the parcel weighs 1lb.

At this point, I have conatcted the Better Business Bureau of Chicago, plus I'm considering finding legal representation. The Attorney General of Illinois has a Consumer Protection Division and I am contacting them with my story. Google "BHM Golf" and you will see I am not the only one!

BHM Golf sucks!

Wrong address again

BHM sent my clubs to the wrong address for the second time. I should have never ordered from them. At some point I think I should give up, but then Brian would win. On the other hand, he continues to spend money to ship my golf clubs to the wrong location.

BHM Golf Sucks!
